Activity locations

Part of what makes Shepherd's Care Assisted Living Center unique is the daily events and activities we offer. A full-time activities director keeps residents active and young at heart. There are three to four scheduled activities per day, including everything from shopping trips to visiting local attractions to special events right at Shepherd's Care. Here are a few of the residents’ favorite destinations and activities:

  • A beautiful Lake Lure, North Carolina. Residents enjoy a pontoon boat ride on the lake.
  • The Greenville Drive, a minor league baseball team affiliated with the Boston Red Sox and located in downtown Greenville, makes for an enjoyable outing.
  • Strawberry Hill USA is a family-owned farm located in West Chesnee, SC. Residents enjpy picking—and eating!—the ripe strawberries in season.
  • DuPont State Forest, between Hendersonville, NC, and Brevard, NC, residents enjoy beautiful scenery and a picnic in the park.
  • Local joyrides and a lunch out are planned once a week for residents.
  • Color Clay Café is a paint-your-own pottery shop in Greenville, where residents get a chance to show off their artistic skills.
  • The Bilo Center, a state-of-the-art sports and entertainment arena in Greenville, provides exciting events including the Barnum & Bailey Circus.
  • A Greenville Road Warriors hockey game appeals to the sports enthusiasts among our residents.

These are just a few of the many fun and exciting events residents have experienced. Residents can also visit with friends and family on one of the two covered porches, hike the newly added walking trail, or entertain in the gazebo. Shepherd's Care is only minutes from shopping, churches and cultural activities. Our newsletter, Shepherd's Courier, keeps both residents and family members aware of the many exciting events happening throughout the year.
